A new season is upon us and with it came our store opening!
Living in Portland, by the time spring comes, we are aching for sun and to wear our sandals, but the weather doesn't always comply. Instead of waiting for warmth, I try to find ways to wear my spring clothes that are commensurate with the weather and slowly transition them for sunnier days. This means lots of layering: a turtleneck bodysuit under a sleeveless jumper or silk overalls, or cute over-the-knee socks with clogs.
The same is true when your body is transitioning. I have customers who are either pregnant or post-partum and their bodies are still changing shape. Fortunately, this spring we have a lot of loose-fitting and forgiving silhouettes so you can be comfortable without feeling dowdy. I love the Luis denim flight suit which is perfect for nursing moms (buttons!) and the gorgeous blue La Causa caftan that skims the body and can work with booties or sandals in the summer.
As a new business owner, I'm learning a lot to accept that transition is a continual part of this endeavor; seasons and styles evolve as will our store as we learn more about our customers and what works. For all stages of life, I'm trying to embrace change in whatever form it comes, because I know there are always sunny days ahead.
